EXTRA credit OPTIONS
Write a play review
Once per semester you have the option of writing a review of a performance of literary merit. The show must be live and of the high school theater, community theater, university theater, or professional theater quality. Use the guidance found at the site to assist you in writing your review: https://writing.wisc.edu/Handbook/PlayReview.html
Sometimes it is helpful to have models to look at when writing. Below are links to some play reviews that might also be helpful.

Write a Literature Letter and Enter a Contest
This fall semester the Library of Congress is sponsoring a contest in which you write a letter to an author of a book you have read and discuss why the book made such a strong impression on you. This could involve characters or situations you identified with or themes that resonated with you. Guidelines can be found at www.read.gov/letters/
If you choose to write a letter, it needs to be typed and formatted appropriately. You will need to turn the letter in before final exams and with an attached (stapled) and completed entry coupon. (you only need to fill in the top and school information portions - not the individual portion at the bottom).
